Plantain Ointment
We gathered our plantain from family and homes to make the first batch of plantain. We continue to make it from dried plantain…our customers have spoken. Every year, we will gather fresh plantain from areas we trust.
Use on bites and stings. We have added basil and lavender essential oils because these are used for poisonous spider bites like black widow and brown recluse.
Ingredients: plantain, calendula; oils: sunflower, calendula, coconut, avocado, apricot; butters: cocoa, mango, natural shea; beeswax; essential oils: basil, lavender
A great ointment to keep in the first aid or picnic bag; for any injury, bite or sting.
Plantain, the herb
This common "weed" has also been called "Heal-All". It is great when used internally and externally. It is found around almost every home, sports field, park, field and golf course...unless there is heavy chemical spraying. In Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing book; it takes up 4 pages (57-61). I like to call it one of God's jokes on us. He gives us the healing herbs we need to be healthy and we call them "weeds" and try to eradicate them. Plantain leaves can be gathered anytime they are needed. Do not use leaves that are heavily insect eaten. Use them in any emergency situation from poisonous bites and stings to cuts and injuries.
Uses of fresh, bruised Plantain leaves: Blood poisoning--reduces swelling and can completely heal a suppurating wound. Eases pain Bites and stings--pulls out the poisons, usually within an hour's time Carbuncles, inflammation, scrofula, eczema, thrush, toothache, worms, ringworm, running sores, itch, mastitis, bruises

Bright Eye Tincture 1/2 oz bottle with dropper and 6 cc dropper bottle
Do you want to improve your vision or eye health? This formula is excellent for brightening and healing the eyes. It has been known to remove cataracts and heavy film from eyes.
This formula may sting and burn for 15-30 seconds after putting drops in eyes!
BASIC DIRECTIONS: Shake gently. Put 2-3 drops of tincture in eye. Rest head on thumbs (I put my thumbs on the "v" in the brow line--an acupressure point), head down, move eyes behind closed lids, then blink rapidly. Blow nose. Use this formula 2-6 times daily. If your eyes get tender; reduce how often you are using it. You will quickly see an improvement in the health of your eyes.
As you are using this formula, exercise your eyes. Remove glasses; focus up close without squinting or straining; focus far away. To improve vision; do these exercises several times daily. You will find your glasses are not going to be working as well as they did. This is your eyes getting better. You will need to practice reading without glasses. Work on strengthening eyes. May need new glasses before a year is up. NOTE: Sometimes this formula will smell funny. It is fine. Using 3 -5 times per day; your bottle will last about 1 month.
Herbs: eyebright, elderflower, bayberry bark, marshmallow, golden seal, red raspberry leaf, cayenne. Base: distilled water, vinegar, potassium sorbate. Kathleen here, 7/5/2010-- Since August 1st, 2009; I have been using the Bright Eyes Tincture from 1 - 6 times a day. I did give my eyes a break one day a week. Then I would start using them again. I got an eye exam on July 2nd. My reading vision is normal (I'm 56) without glasses or bifocals. My astigmatism improved in both eyes -- in one .25 in the other .50! I am very happy and going to continue. 7/2011-- Kathleen here...Went in for another eye exam. I haven't been as diligent about using the tincture this last year. I try to use it at least once per day. There was tiny astigmatism improvement. While I was disappointed; my eye doctor checked every area of my eye. She said she has not seen such healthy eyes in anyone; much less someone 57! I have great tears; not one clogged gland; and the fluid in my eyes are clear without any floating junk! She was amazed at how healthy my eyes are. She pointed out that "normally" our eyes get worse each year. And here mine are improving. Is it worth it? You bet. I want to keep clear, healthy eyes for the rest of my life (and I'm planning to live to 100 or 120!)!
(11/10) Hi Kathy....Thought you would want to know. The other part of my news is I went for my annual eye appointment and I too no longer need eye glasses for reading and he said my eyes are"exceptionally" healthy for my age because not only do I not need reading glasses but my eyes do not even have to "accommodate"to see for reading.....Very interesting!
